Molten Pictures offers many services. Visual effects, color grading, and digital imaging technican services. If the job is too bug for me to take on I have a core group of freelancers with their own specialties that I can call on to deliver what you need.
Visual Effects
Visual effects are usefull to a varity of projects. Sometimes visual effects can be used to clean up a film by removing safety harneses from stunt men, or they can be central story pieces created by computer graphics to feature an element that may be impossible or inconvenient to film. I have experience creating a wide variety of visual effects that are designed to enhance or compliment a story.
The Visual effects process should begin in pre-production. More complicated effects shot may require special planning or camera setups. Often expensive effects problems can be solved much faster and better when they are planned out in advance. If you have an idea to incorporate a computer graphics element into a scene during the post production phase the shot may be much more expensive than if the shot was planned out ahead of time.

Color Grading
Color grading and mastering is an essential part of your post production workflow. It is that extra polish that makes your work look exceptional. In most cases all you need is to properly set your brightness and contrast levels to match your intended output medium. Other times you might want to push the out-of-camera picture around to achieve a unique visual style that compliments your story.
Digital Imaging Technician
In the world of digital video it is more important than ever to have a good workflow for getting your work from the camera and into your edit bay in a fast, efficient, and safe way. A digital imaging technician (D.I.T.) is someone on set who makes sure that your camera's video is intact, backed up, and available for review or dailies. Having a D.I.T. on set can make it a pleasent experience working with digital video.
A D.I.T. can also build interface between the camera department, director, and DP. They can stup shot reviews and in some cases may provide valuable information about exposure, focus, picture quality, and white balance to the crew that might only be available upon a close examination of the digital video. When working with a tapeless system like Panasonic's P2 cards, Arri Alexa and Codex, or the Red raw files a director can get fast feedback on what a shot looks like and even see what a shot might look like in context of a film when watching dailies.
Like visual effects, proper planning of your digital video workflow is best in your pre-production phase. There should be no variables concerning how your video will be transfered, reviewed, and stored on the first day of shooting. A D.I.T. can work closely with the camera department to find an ideal work environment that will provide a fluid working environment that is custom tailored to the shooting style, environment, and cameras used for any shoot.
Consulting
Sometimes you just need someone to talk to. I also offer my time and experience as a consultant for visual effects projects and general workflow concerns. My experience managing the hundreds of assets and video formats in visual effects and post production has forced me to develop a solid understanding of organizing a post production pipeline. If you are new to film making or effects heavy post I would be happy to have a conversation about potential hazards you might experience along the way or ways to simplify your process. Meeting and mapping out a plan for post production can save you time, quality, and more importantly money that might be wasted if a proper plan is not outlined and tested in pre-production.
I enjoy discussing potential projects and collaborating with fellow artists. If you are working on a low budget my consulting rates can slide very low if you need to work out a good post production plan. If you need more time intensive services like hardware and software testing and evaluation or shot pre-visualization the rate will adjust accordingly.
