The Video Parasite
Can I make a portable Blackmagic Intensity Pro based video capture system? This is an engineering experiment to try and get some great video quality out of today's consumer and prosumer video cameras. By capturing off the HDMI or Component video we bypass all that nasty in camera compression.
Lessons learned in this project will be useful to independent filmmakers with a desire to push their equipment and tell a great story that could include serious color correction, green screen, and other Post process FX.

A Day in Heaven
This is a short film project that I am doing special effects for. There is no official website for the project, but I will use this as a sort of post-production diary of my progress on the film I have received a rough edit of the film that I am using for raw footage and to count shots. This is the short film that Molten Pictures is doing the visual FX for. "A day in Heaven" shot lists and progress bars. There are 65 total effects shots that I have to complete for ADIH, some are green screen, a few are major shots, and some are quick effects. Tentative timeline to completion is November 1st. Unfortunately I am not working with the final cut so some of these may be ditched while some may be added later.
As I make progress on the shots I will post more movies stills. I will also post before/after and making off movies for anyone interested in film special effects. Keep in mind I don't have all the answers and the "correct" way to solve every problem. I also don't have time to go in depth on every little shot, even though I really want to. Most of this site is made while waiting for the computer to finish making some calculations before I can work again. I am writing this with the impression that you might care about the post production process, so I will use a lot of technical words. Please forgive typos and let me know if there are any mistakes of if there is anything you would like to add.
